We had a clothes dryer that wouldn’t turn on at 67 Bishop Drive. Our team did an initial diagnostics and found out that it was possibly a busted motor. So, we decided to call the professionals. Sears Home Services visited the property. The technician confirmed the diagnostics. What was surprising for us was that the repair would cost $800! Apparently, to replace the motor, some other parts needed to be sacrificed and replaced. Since a new one would cost less, we decided to buy a new one. Our experience with such appliances has been that if we cannot fix it easily ourselves, it is best to replace it.
We went to Home Depot and checked out the electric dryers. We landed on Hot Point 6.2 cu. ft. Electric Dryer. With repair cost so high, it did not make sense to invest too much in the appliance. We will let you know how that decision will hold up. Home Depot handled delivery and removal of the old one. Within a week, we were able to replace the dryer.
We thank our tenants for their cooperation and understanding. We also thank our landlord for acting quickly in approving this expense. Now, the tenant has dry clothes again.
